RIFTSTORM Weapons Hub
Crafting, salvaging, Combat Power, and Weapon Scarring—how your arsenal grows before the planned August 11, 2026 Steam Early Access launch.
Weapons define how your Weaver clears Mythic threats, secures extract loot, and survives escalating Threat Levels. RIFTSTORM ships with roughly thirty weapons at Early Access alongside Lythogram in-mission upgrades and Periapt meta progression. This hub explains how hub-side systems—especially the Forge Center—turn mission drops into a coherent loadout for three-player online co-op.
Arsenal philosophy
Confiction Labs positions RIFTSTORM as extraction-lite co-op PvE: you keep successfully extracted gear, while failed runs apply Weapon Scarring instead of wiping your inventory. That philosophy shapes every weapon decision. A high-Combat-Power rifle is worth crafting, but only bring it into missions where your squad agrees on extract timing and role coverage via the Squad Composer.
Weapons interact with Weaver kits. Rook may prefer close-range stability; Starling rewards precision at distance; Hertz, Botsy, and Caracal each skew toward different ability synergies detailed on Weavers pages. Build pages under Builds connect Periapt nodes to weapon archetypes.
Forge Center: craft and salvage
The Forge Center is the hub station for both crafting and salvaging:
- Random craft — Spend materials and credits for an unpredictable weapon roll when you need breadth.
- Blueprint craft — Use Dataseed blueprints from missions to target a specific weapon pattern.
- CP potential and rarity floors — Invest more resources to raise Combat Power ceilings and minimum rarity on crafts.
- Salvage — Break unwanted drops into components for future crafts.
Featured status on the Forge Center page reflects how central this loop is to power growth. Read that guide before you sink rare salvage from PADDOCK Contingency missions, then deep-dive Dataseeds when you know which archetype your main needs.
Salvage discipline
Not every drop deserves inventory space. Salvaging Weapons covers when to recycle duplicates, how salvage feeds blueprint crafts, and why holding ten mid-tier copies slows Periapt advancement. Early Access drop tables will shift—aggressive salvage during the first months prevents stash clutter.
Combat Power and mission gates
Mission select screens compare your squad’s Combat Power (CP) against recommended thresholds—see the full Combat Power guide. Red-highlighted CP recommendations signal higher Threat Levels with better Mythic Resource odds but sharper enemy tuning. Weapons are the largest CP lever before account-wide Periapt investments.
| CP strategy | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Match recommended CP | Learning new zones or playing with mixed-skill friends |
| +1 Threat above comfort | Farming blueprints and premium salvage |
| Maximum CP push | Coordinated trio with defined roles and extract plans |
Coordinate CP targets with Trio Comps so one under-geared friend does not drag matchmaking into experimental balance territory.
Weapon Scarring and repair
Failed extracts can scar weapons you brought into the mission—negative modifiers rather than deletion. Scarred pieces remain in your vault and can be repaired or salvaged at the Forge Center. Treat scarring as a risk budget: bring backup options and know when to extract early using How to Extract principles.
Demo vs Early Access gear
The Steam demo uses a simplified crafting slice and four curated missions. Demo weapons teach handling and rarity colors but may not reflect full Forge Center costs at launch. Use demo time to pick favorite archetypes—SMG, rifle, shotgun, launcher—then plan blueprint targets for Early Access week one.
